贝瑞大学是一所私立天主教大学, 始建于1940年. 在2011年美国世界与新闻杂志中, 被评选为美国最好大学之一。在2006年, 被该杂志评选为大学多元化南部第一. 学生来自于全美49个州以及世界上80个国家. 学校目前在校生9300多人, 教职员工871人, 校友39922人, 师生比例14:1. 主校区位于佛罗里达州迈阿密市东北方向的郊区, 占地122英亩. 法学院校区位于奥兰多, 占地22英亩, 该校法学院在佛州拥有极高知名度, 同时也是美国南部最好的法学院之一.
2、学校历史
贝瑞大学最初为女子天主教学院. 1940年成立的贝瑞女子学院校区前身为一片蔬菜园. 最初校区有5栋建筑, 校名是取自第一任校长圣玛莉 Gerald Barry (1940-1961在任). 1981年11月13日, 贝瑞学院正式更名为贝瑞大学.
Cor Jesu教堂是校园核心, 它是由St. Patrick's 教堂教区居民Margaret Brady Farrell资助. 在发觉由于资金短缺而停工后, Farrel又再捐助直到Cor Jesu教堂建成. 为表彰他的贡献, 商学院被命名为"Farrel楼". 教堂是以一个24米的钟塔封顶, 教堂内可容纳500人.

贝瑞大学主校区位佛罗里达迈阿密岸, Dwayne O. Andreas法学院位于奥兰多校区, 而圣彼得堡校区是内科医学专业的校区. 主校区有40栋建筑, 包括实验室和室内室外运动场. Monsignor William Barry Memorial 图书馆藏书71万册.
贝瑞大学最初为文理学院, 随后专业扩大至护理, 教育, 医学和社会实践. 1954年开设研究生院, 1974年成立继续教育学院, 1976年成立商学院, 1983年成立生物医学部门, 1985年秋成立足医学院.
1999年, 贝瑞大学法学院正式在奥兰多成立, 命名为Dwayne O. Andreas法学院.
