东卡罗来纳州立大学(East Carolina University)简称为ECU，是一所州立大学，创校于公元1907年，是一所具有相当悠久历史的学府。创立之初为一所培育师资的师范学校，本意是为了改善美国东部普遍师资不足所设立，经过了近一个世纪的演变，渐渐改制为现今的研究型大学。

美国北卡罗来纳州州立大学孔子学院和北卡罗来纳州国际理解中心共同主办了第三届中美北卡教育峰会。150多位来自北卡罗来纳州的教育界及商界精英参加了大会。出席峰会并致辞的有北卡大学总校校长Thomas Ross，北卡州大校长Randy Woodson，北卡教育委员会主席Bill Harrison，北卡商贸部长Keith Crisco，北卡公共教育局局长June Atkinson等。
北卡大学系统将通过与北卡州大孔院和北卡国际理解中心等单位合作，通过网络教学与面授等多种形式，在北卡17个校区开设中文课程，加强北卡大学与中方合作院校的伙伴关系;招收更多的中国留学生，增强中国学生和当地学生和社区的联系等。
